Construction
The Specialist High Skills Major program in Construction gives students an opportunity to specialize, gain qualifications, and plan a career pathway in various areas of the Construction industry while still in high school.
Students will acquire career-focused knowledge and skills
before entering apprenticeship training, college, university, or the workplace.
Students will develop skills, knowledge and experience in Architectural Design, Carpentry, Home Building, and Heating or Electrical areas of the construction sector.
There will be opportunities to connect with industry professionals through field trips, guest speakers and other experiential learning activities.
Students will receive training and sector recognized certifications, such as Working at Heights, basic Health and Safety, First Aid & CPR, lockout/tagout, and confined space awareness as part of the SHSM package.
LCVI is proud to announce it is partnering with the Ontario Masons Training Centre to provide LDSB students a unique opportunity to gain experience in the masonry sector of
construction.
